BigPicture with BigTemplate super fusion for Jira

In this post we want to show:

• BigPicture Jira Dashboard gadgets
• Export from BigPicture using BigTemplate Jira plugin
• How to change the BigTemplate “templates”
• Other config params of BigPicture

If you need a control panel to track your Programs, we explain here a little trick… Use a Jira Dashboard with 3 BigPicture useful gadgets! Very easy to do, just create a Dashboard and add the 3 gadgets.

Now select your Program (as explained in the previous blog post) inside the params of the gadgets. You will see something like this:

When you use BigPicture, probably you will need to export results to Excel, CSV or Microsoft Project! And for this reason we can use/install BigTemplate.

The first test you can do after install BigTemplate is to export a Gantt report of your Program. Click in “Export” button. As you can see, we can export in CSV, Excel, Project,..

Once we have installed BigTemplate, in the usual View/Screen of an Issue you will see a new section to “Print” from Templates! (of course, section/panel BigTemplate)

The result is very good!

Those templates are configurable in an easy way from the Administration section. Just download a template, change it and upload again, or create new ones! Easy!

Now we want to explore the Administration section of BigPicture too.

The Task Link sync is used to configure the “special” links that will be used and show specially in the Gantt report of the Program for type of dependencies. Also a new special link (soft-link) to show threads between cards in the new “beta” board of BigPicture.

Exist also an Administration part to map customfields to the system-ones of BigPicture.

The same for Team task field. First you must create manually this customfield

Exist a great feature for the new Program Projects, we can set a default configuration for the new projects created using BigPicture.

Another Administration part to enable/disable the Issue View widget (panel) of BigPicture, for the Gantt section and for the  Skills section

Another important part to create templates of Work scheduling! We need to set correctly the non-working days to accurate the reports!

Finally, but important too, the Permissions Administration section (because by default is “public“)
