This post is the continuation of:
- How to integrate Trello with Jira Cloud
- Integrate Jira and Slack in both directions with NextUp Jira Integration+
Now we want to make a triple integration between UpTimeRobot , OpsGenie (currently called Jira Ops) and Slack.
First of all, in UpTimeRobot we configure a permanent “ping” to one of our sites to detect the downs and ups of the service.
After the configuration, we can go to OpsGenie (or Jira Ops, the new name). We need to create a new Team, in this case called “MrAddon_Artigiano”
Now we can configure the integrations inside the Team settings, and we can add a new integration to Slack.
Now just connect the integration with Slack!
Now it’s connected to the channel selected of Slack
Return to OpsGenie and add the integration with UpTimeRobot too (and follow the instructions)
Create a new user in the UpTimeRobot using the settings of the integration
Now remember to add the new “contact” (UptimeRobot) to your OpsGenie!
Now the integration it’s ready! Well done! And the integration is free!
When a downtime is happening UptimeRobot send a notification to a Webhook (API) of OpsGenie. Then OpsGenie send a notification to the Slack channel. The same happens when the service get up again, finally a Slack notification is sent by OpsGenie. See the screenshot below
Remember, any “alert” (ticket) created in OpsGenie will be sent also to the Mobile App, Mobile SMS and Notification, not only to your email, also for your Slack channel! This app rocks!
The alerts are very similar to the Jira tickets
Then, after an alert is triggered, the Team can “Ack” the task!
That’s all! Very amazing integration for all Ops Teams!
